Operational policy  Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care will be accordance with the General Operational Policy of Hospital Shah Alam.

Divided to 2 parts:

1.Anaesthesiology- Operation Theater and Anaesthesia Clinic

2.Critical Care Unit and High Dependency Unit

 

 

1. Ensure all patients underwent elective and emergency surgery received optimum anaesthesia and adequate analgesia for enhancement post operative recovery

2. Patient listed for elective surgery had to underwent pre-operative assessment in Anaesthesia clinic for peri-operative optimization and minimalize cancellation

3.To fascilitate ambulatory surgery or daycare surgery admission (DOSA) with proper selection of cases and adequate pre operative assessment in the clinic

4. Ensure no delay of Category 1 Caesarean Delivery to minimize fetal compromise with the safety of the mother.

5.Patient undergo elective and emergency surgery received optimal safe surgery and anaesthetic care according to national guidelines

6. To provide high quality critical care management with prevention of ventilator -associated pneumonia, pressure ulcer and self-extubation from mechanically ventilated patients

7.Expansion of critical care facility to cater for all medical and surgical specialties in the hospital

 

 Electives surgery operating time 8am- 4pm

 Emergency OT 24hrs

 Anaesthesia clinic: 8am-4pm

Critical Care Unit- 24hrs
